Instruction
We offer a full range of classes for climbers of all abilities both indoor and outdoor. Whether you are brand new to climbing and would like to learn the ropes, or an experienced climber looking to advance your technique, our instructional staff is there to show you the moves. Class schedules are available at the gym, or check out our online calendar.

Indoor Instruction
Belay On – $5/person
A basic introduction to indoor safety and rope management. This class is required for anyone new to climbing or new to SRG and over 13 years of age. We offer “Belay On” at any time, no reservations are needed. The SRG “Belay On” course is only for use at SRG, this course is not a certification for use at other climbing facilities.
Lead Climbing – Members only! – $100 per person – 4 hours.
Lead classes require strong technical and endurance skills. It is up to staff and instructors to determine eligibility for the class. Please check with Charles or Spike to cover any questions you have regarding enrollment.
Private Lessons – Members – $35/hour, non-members – $45/hour. Please call for reservations.
Tailored to the individual climber, a one-hour private lesson can focus on the fundamentals of indoor climbing or a specific area of your climbing technique. We pair the client to the instructor to maximize your learning experience.
Group Lessons – Members – $25/hour, non-members – $35/hour. Please call for reservations.
Designed with climbing partners, family outings, and team-building in mind, our group lessons are for groups of four to six people and can cover a broad range of topics or activities. Larger groups may need a second instructor. Minimum of one hour with a three hour maximum.
Women’s 101 – Members $150/class, non-members $175/class. Please call for reservations.
Our basic introductory course designed by women for women. This four week course is intended as a foundation from which to build a climbing career, be it recreational or full-time commitment. Class cost includes gear rental during class time and a six-week membership to SRG with full benefits. No experience necessary, call for details about the next session.

Outdoor Guiding
Sanctuary Rock Guides take you from the gym to the rock at Pinnacles National Monument for a day of anchor building and top-roping. No experience necessary; our guides tailor the day to fit your experience level. To learn more and check out photos from our past trips click the photo to the left.
Merit Badge
As part of our instructional support, SRG offers courses designed specifically for climbing Merit Badges. Our staff is well versed in all aspects of the BSA climbing requirements from basic knot tying to climber communication and first aid based safety. All SRG indoor classes include a day pass and rental equipment.
